At the Latino Community Center, we believe that every child, youth, and family deserves to feel supported, valued, and given meaningful opportunities to grow.
We were born from the dreams and strength of our community, and since then, we have worked together to create pathways, build bridges, and shape a fairer, more hopeful future.

Our mission
We equip Latino children, youth, and families with the tools and opportunities they need to reach their full potential through educational programs, family support, and community development.
Our story
Our story
The Latino Community Center (LCC) was founded in 2017 by Rosamaria Cristello, with the support of community members and allies who dared to dream big.
Its roots, however, go back to 2009, when the Department of Human Services (DHS) created the Latino Family Center (LFC), a space dedicated to supporting families with children ages 0 to 5. Over the years, the LFC grew and evolved along with the community until, in 2017, it became the LCC—a nonprofit organization with a governance structure that truly represents our people.
Since then, the LCC has grown from a small team of volunteers to more than 40 members—most of them community members themselves—and has significantly expanded its impact. Today, we offer educational, family support, community health, and crisis support programs, always committed to opening doors and creating opportunities.
In 2020, the DHS officially transferred the Latino Family Center to the LCC, solidifying our role in supporting Pittsburgh’s Latino families.
In 2023, we began a new chapter with the expansion of our facilities and the campaign to establish a Youth Center—an inspiring space designed to empower the future of our new generations.
