END OF THE YEAR FIESTA!
End of the Year fiesta (also known as Navidad in Pittsburgh 🎄) in Pittsburgh is the Latino Community Center's annual holiday event for Latinx families in Allegheny County.
End of the year fiesta is a day where Latinx children, youth and families come together to celebrate the Spirit of Navidad. In addition to activities that include art making and taking a picture with Santa, parents have the opportunity to “shop” for gifts for their children and wrap them on sight.
We know that not everyone has the means to buy a gift for the Holidays, which is why we are here to ensure that all parents and caregivers have the opportunity to do so.
In early Fall, we put out a call to our region to help us by purchasing gifts via our amazon wishlist. These gifts are then organized in a way where parents get the opportunity to look through and pick the gift for their child because at the end of the day, they know their kid best! Parents and caregivers can then wrap the presents right then and there (with help from our friendly elfs of course!).
Parents and caregivers do have the option of telling their children that the gifts came from LCC, or they can choose to say it’s from them and give it to their children on Christmas day.. It’s up to them!
It takes all of us to bring cheer during the holidays, so we hope you will continue to support this event each year.
In the meantime check out the impact and photos of events from previous years!
