Transition
In 2015, a comprehensive Latino Needs Assessment was conducted to determine the greatest needs for the Latino Community in Allegheny County. After completion of that assessment, the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) completed a strategic plan for the Latino Family Center to identify a service-delivery plan to address these needs. This process revealed a critical need for an adaptation of the Latino Family Center that would be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a majority Latino board of directors. In 2017, the Latino Community Center was established to fill this need and provide family and educational support services to Latinos in Pittsburgh. In July 2020, this transition process was completed, and the Latino Community Center became the fiscal agent of the Latino Family Center.
Please note: The PAT and ISAC programs remained with the AIU. All other programs transferred to the LCC.
