Adalis Rivera

Caseworker

Adalis joined the Latino Community Center in 2023, received her bachelor’s degree in Human and Social Sciences and Psychology from Turabo University, Puerto Rico, and is currently working on her master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Phoenix.

Originally from Puerto Rico, where she grew up in the countryside in the center of the island, she was able to work in different areas such as Middle School Teacher, Special Education Secretary, and voluntary Caretaker for different institutions for abused children. Her journey in the United States started in Tampa, Florida, 7 years ago, and now here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she lives with her husband and her 3 dogs. Here, Adalis had the opportunity to work in the Home-Health Assistance area as a Service Coordinator for the disabled and elderly population in Allegheny County HomeMakers before working for Carnegie Learning; a STEM and Languages specialized company.

Her goal is to help the Latino community overcome the different challenges that they face when they come to a new place, promote Latino values, celebrate their traditions, and be part of our Hispanic family here in Pittsburgh!
